Great nails are all in the details. They come from prep, structure, and balance, along with the calm confidence of a well-trained nail tech. Alva Beauty Collective’s Manicurist Program is built for students who learn best by doing. Technique comes first here, so class time is focused on building the skills you can use with real clients, not just about memorizing facts.
Complete your theory hours at home, and come into our Lemon Grove campus for live demonstrations and guided practice. Instruction is available in English and Spanish, with day and evening classes available. Our small class sizes mean you get more opportunities for instructor feedback, so you can refine your skills and prepare to work on real clients with confidence.
If you are ready to build skills you can be proud of, let’s talk. Learn more about our Manicurist Training Program and how you can start enrollment.
Our program is split into two distinct parts: learning theory at home and doing hands-on practice in our campus facilities. The theory portion of your state hours is completed online, giving you flexibility over when and how you learn. Then you’ll come to campus three times a week to learn through demonstrations and guided practice with feedback from experienced professional manicurists.
Nail training is stronger when you can connect theory directly to real services. The practice time and feedback help you build your skill set as you work toward providing services to real clients in our student salon (under the supervision of licensed professionals).
Gaining your manicurist license gives you an opportunity to pursue a career path with flexibility to be your own boss, work in an established salon, or develop a specialty. Graduates may pursue roles such as:

Alva Beauty Collective offers in-house payment plans that can make the cost of your training more manageable. Plan features may include no-credit-check options, 0% interest, and weekly or monthly payments, depending on what’s available at the time of your enrollment. During a campus tour, our team will explain current options and help you understand what to expect as you budget for your training.
Our manicurist training includes 400 clock hours. How long it takes you to complete the program will depend on your attendance and how quickly you progress through the skills training. If you’d like to know an approximate graduation date, our admissions team can help you plan a realistic timeline based on your schedule and start date.
Alva Beauty Collective does not currently offer federal financial aid. We plan to offer financial aid in the future and will keep you updated on the process. In the meantime, you can use our in-house payment plans to help manage the cost of tuition. Ask our team about current payment plan options.
The Manicurist Program focuses exclusively on nail services, so training is typically shorter than Cosmetology. Cosmetology training covers a broader range of services, including nails, hair, and skin. If your main interest is nails, then the Manicurist Training Program may be right for you. If you aren’t sure which program to choose, our admissions team can help.
To start the admissions and enrollment process, schedule a campus tour to see the training space and ask us any questions you might have. After that, we can help you start your admissions application and provide a list of the documents you’ll need to submit. Once accepted, you can choose to start training on any Monday!
