Explore Technique-First Training in Lemon Grove

Beauty training is hands-on at our Lemon Grove campus, where we put technique at the heart of every in-person class session. This is the hub of Alva Beauty Collective, built to support students who want to pursue a future in cosmetology, esthetics, or other areas of beauty. Our space offers workstations for hands-on practical training along with dedicated areas for skin and nails.

Students come here to build their skills, not just to check off clock hours. If you want a beauty school campus that feels supportive and focused on training you in real skills you can use in the future, this could be the place for you.

Want to see the campus in person? Schedule a tour, and we’ll walk you through the space, the programs, and what training here looks like week to week.

A Campus Built for Hands-On Learning

A beauty school campus designed around real training needs.

Complete your theory lessons at home, then come to campus for hands-on learning sessions built around practical demonstrations and guided practice. The Lemon Grove campus of Alva Beauty Collective occupies around 3,000 square feet. We’ve built it to create an environment that supports your education. The workstations, tools, and service areas are set up to feel like a real salon setting. Within this setting, you can start to build your skill set while perfecting your timing and client skills, without having to imagine what it feels like to work in a real salon or studio.

Learn service standards with our experienced instructors by your side, offering feedback and support as you grow your skills. You can build your professional habits, such as sanitation practices, station set-up, and client care, as part of the learning process. There are also opportunities to work with real clients in the salon setting with plenty of oversight and coaching to support your growth—all services provided by students under the supervision of licensed professionals.

Our school includes:

  • Classroom spaces for theory instruction
  • Workstations with hydraulic chairs, dryers, shampoo bowls, and sinks
  • Esthetics beds and skincare stations
  • Manicure stations and pedicure chairs
  • Educational technology such as smart TVs, tablets, whiteboards, and instructional charts
  • A full range of professional tools, products, and supplies used in training and client services

A campus tour is the best way to learn how our school operates and what training feels like in our classrooms and student salon. Come see the space, meet our team, and ask questions you have about beauty training at Alva Beauty Collective.

After being in the dental field for 23 years I decided to go back to school To follow a passion of cutting hair. ALVA was a perfect opportunity to get the schooling I needed to be able to qualify for state board exam and not break the bank. The speedy curriculum and flexible hours made this possible for me. As a Mom and full time employee I needed that flexibility. They were very accommodating when my work schedules changed. The teachers are very knowledgeable on current protocols and techniques. The atmosphere is relaxed but offers the competitiveness that is sometimes helpful in that drive to be better. As one of the older students, I felt right at home and enjoyed the young energy that filled the air. My only regret… Is that I did not do this 23 years ago! The beauty industry is always growing and very competitive when it comes to what you can make financially. I should have done this so long ago!

This is a really great beauty school that truly has built a curriculum that suits the needs of the real world. With a hybrid schedule for the academic portion and immediate hands on training at school it is effective in allowing more people to pursue a career while managing life. It's very cool to see the various programs operating in a shared space learning different aspects of professions in the beauty industry. ✨️

My experience at this beauty school has been a dream come true! I am excited to be a part of the Cosmetology program offered here with amazing educators like Amber and Daisy and the front desk staff is always so friendly and welcoming. I’m new at this program and already learned so much!
